Follow Highway 56 North from Lihue to Hanalei.  Continue past the town of Hanalei approximately 15 minutes.  Look for the Hanalei Colony Resort on your right as a landmark.  Pass the Hanalei Colony Resort by exactly 9/10 of a mile and look for street address 5-7640 on your right.  This is the public access road to Tunnels Beach. To park, continue north from there to Haena Beach Park (across from the dry caves).  Park here and use the restroom if needed. Once you are ready, walk back down the beach to Tunnels Beach (approx. 8-10 minute walk).  We’ll be set up on the beach, typically right under the pine trees, wearing blue polo shirts.

Turn into the Lihue Airport at the Ahukini Road intersection in Lihue.  Take the left fork as you enter the airport, following the posted signs to Ahukini Landing.  Continue for approximately one mile.  The road dead ends at the dive site.  We’ll be wearing blue polo shirts.

Take Highway 50 South from Lihue. After approximately 15 minutes, you will see Junction 520, also known as the “Tunnel of Trees”. Turn left and follow 520 until you reach a stop sign. This is Koloa Road.  Turn right onto Koloa Road.  Take your first left after the Chevron gas station onto Poipu Road.  Follow Poipu Road until you reach a traffic roundabout and take your second right off of the roundabout onto Lawai Road.  Take your first left onto Hoonani Road.  You will immediately cross a small bridge. You will see a dirt parking lot on your right just past the bridge.  There is a sign posted on a light pole that says “Koloa Outrigger Canoe & Paddling”. Park in the dirt lot near the sign and walk down the gravel road to the waters’ edge.  Your instructor will be wearing a blue polo shirt.
