For those of you who have always wanted to try scuba diving or wondered what it was all about, we offer Discover Scuba Diving and Open Water Certification Classes. It’s as easy as 1, 2, 3!
And for those of you who are certified, we offer morning and afternoon shore, boat, and night dives as well as specialty classes to further your diving experience. Whether you are a certified diver or just interested in a great “down under” experience, we’ll roll out the red carpet and show you all the wonderful under water sites of Kauai.

Discover Scuba Diving
If you’ve always wanted to stay “down under” the water or just want to see what all the fuss is about, join us for our Discover Scuba Diving class. It’s fun, easy, and entertaining. We start you out with a brief class at our poolside table, then a short practice session in the pool with the gear.
We take our time and make sure you are comfortable and confident before moving on to the ocean dive. After you’re excited about diving in the pool, we take you to our dive site for the experience of a lifetime “down under” the beautiful blue waters of Kauai. And if you like your first dive, we’ll throw in a second for half price!
Open Water Certification and Referrals
Are you already addicted to diving and just need to get certified so you can join the fish under the sea? We offer PADI* Open Water Certification classes that can be completed in as little as three days! All it takes is a little homework, some class time, a short pool session, and four ocean dives to become a certified scuba diver. And we can even send you the book in the mail** so you can get a head start before you arrive in Kauai. Plus, if you have a friend that wants to get certified, we give discounts for groups of two or more…the more the merrier!
Already started your scuba certification, but can’t find time to finish before your trip to Hawaii? Or, the water back home is too cold? Or both? We’d love to help you finish your certification here in warm, sunny Kauai, Hawaii. You can complete your four ocean dives in just two half day dive sessions and be out touring the sites by the afternoon each day. Just let us know when you’re going to be here, and we’ll help you set it all up!

Shore Diving
Kauai has some excellent shore dives year round with an abundance of marine life found no where else in the world as well as a vast array of tropical Pacific marine life just to top it off! We offer South shore diving year round and North shore diving in the summer months. Whether you want to see the rarest Hawaiian endemic critter or the biggest turtle, we’ve got you covered with our expert dive masters leading the way through your under water adventure twice daily, every day of the year!
Boat Diving
Kauai has a multitude of boat dives which boast a wide variety of marine life as well as clear blue water. If boat diving is your forte, we can make it happen! Boat diving off of the South shore of Kauai is offered twice daily every day of the year. If you’re an experienced dive and want to dive some of the best diving in the Hawaiian Islands, a three tank boat dive to the island of Ni’ihau should be on your agenda. However, this trip is not for beginners or those who might be prone to seasickness, and is only offered twice a week in the summer months. So sign up early if this sounds like the dive trip for you!
Night Diving
Kauai offers some of the best night diving in the Pacific. Some of the rarest creatures can be seen just off shore. Let our critter-friendly dive masters show you how amazing the Kauai night life is under the water. Night dives are offered every day of the week for your convenience.

Want to poke around “down under” on your own? We’ve got everything you need to get wet: BCDs, regulators, wetsuits, booties, masks, fins, snorkels, weights, tanks, lights and even directions! Let our friendly professional dive staff outfit you with our great gear and get you headed in the right direction for a wonderfully wet adventure.

Kauai Down Under is a full service PADI* dive shop offering the highest quality dive gear for all your scuba diving needs. We feature brand names like Oceanic, Seasport, Mares, Underwater Kinetics, and many more.
If you are a certified diver, but didn’t bring your own equipment, we have everything you need for a great experience “down under” the beautiful blue waters of Kauai. Or, if you have everything and just need tanks and weights, we have that too! We offer rentals by the day or the week.
We also offer guided dives and Scuba Review dives if you are feeling a bit rusty. Or if you’re an experienced diver and want to poke around on your own, our knowledgeable dive staff can provide you with directions to some of the more popular dive sites and even a few tips for the best diving experience.
